Each student earns two grades:

  1. Academic grade: How well you did in the content. A, B, C, D, or F
  2. Citizenship grade: O, S, N or U. How good a citizen you were, how you behaved, helped, volunteered, and respected yourself and others.

How your grades are calculated:

  1. Homework (25%): There will be some almost every day. You may be randomly quizzed on it or it may be collected.
  2. Tests and Quizzes (65%): Quizzes are mostly unannounced. They are usually 5 minutes long and include 5 questions. Tests are announced a week in advance and usually last all period long.
  3. Effort and Participation  (10%): That is the easiest part of your grade.

NOTICE:  I don't "give" grades, students "earn grades."  I just calculate the numbers from the assignments as described above, and come out with a grade.
